Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has dropped out of Fabio Capello's England squad to face Brazil at the weekend.
Johnson teamed up with the rest of the England squad after the draw with Birmingham on Monday night for the glamour friendly in Qatar but he has now been sent home.
The FA confirmed Johnson was assessed by the medical staff on Tuesday and they found a problem so he has returned to the club for treatment.
A statement read: "Glen Johnson will not travel with England to face Brazil and has returned to Liverpool.
"Johnson was assessed by the England medical staff and has returned to his club for further treatment."
The exact nature of the injury has not been confirmed but Johnson has suffered with calf and groin injuries since joining the Reds in the summer.
