Duo in for Walcott

Liverpool and Manchester City are both ready to offer Theo Walcott the striking role the Arsenal star craves, reports have claimed.
Walcott has revealed guarantees over his future role in the side is causing the delay regards his new contract, not his wage demands which has been reported in the press. The winger wants to play as an out-and-out striker and unless Arsene Wenger gives him an opportunity to do so there is every chance he could run his contract down and move for free next summer. Reports are now claiming that City and Liverpool are ready to promise him such a role in an attempt to lure him away from the Emirates Stadium in January. It is hard to imagine City doing that considering the wealth of talent they have vying for a striking position, but Liverpool are short in attack and could make a move. Wenger says he is confident Walcott will eventually sign but until he does, the rumours over his future will continue to rumble on.
