Fresh injury woe

Liverpool, 10:16, November 10, 2009 ,

Liverpool look certain to be without Albert Riera and Yossi Benayoun for the clash with Manchester City a week on Saturday.

The pair both picked up hamstring injuries in Monday night's draw with Birmingham and are likely to be on the sidelines for the visit of City on November 21 and they could also be doubts for the Merseyside derby a week later, depending on how bad their injuries are.
The Reds are waiting on medical reports, but Rafa Benitez has predicted both players will have torn their hamstrings and if that is the case then they could be out for up to a month.
Benitez said: "Riera had the same problem as before. The players are sometimes available but not 100 per cent ready. We thought he was okay but in the end you can see he wasn't.
"Yossi has the same problem as Riera. Some players are playing too many games in a row. They are working very hard and so you always have this risk. I think both will have tears."
