Fulham ace wanted

Liverpool are ready to make a £5m bid for Fulham's Clint Dempsey but that may not be enough to persuade him to leave Craven Cottage.

The 29-year-old is heading into the final year of his contract at Fulham and for that reason they are unlikely to land their asking price of £9m for the attacking midfielder who excelled last season, but at the same time they will not be pushed into accepting a low fee for the player.
Liverpool boss Brenden Rodgers has earmarked the attacking midfielder as one that he wants to add to his side, Dempsey himself has indicated he is happy with either scenario, either staying where he is for a further season or moving on to pastures new.
With 17 Premier League goals to his name last season there would be no shortage of takers should he become available but the Reds remain favourites to land him.
