Gerrard offers Keane backing
Skipper Steven Gerrard is not worried about Robbie Keane's goal drought and has backed the striker to open his Liverpool account soon.
Keane has yet to score for the Reds following his move from Spurs in the summer but his all-round play has been impressive after featuring up front alongside both Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt so far this season.
Gerrard believes it is only a matter of time before the Republic of Ireland international finds the target and expects him to go on a scoring spree after he gets off the mark.
"The most important goal Robbie will ever score for us will be his first one," Gerrard said.
"After that goes in then they are going to flow. He has got the full support of the fans, the boss and the lads because we see how well he is playing outside the box."
Gerrard added: "We see the effort he is putting in selflessly for the team and we know he is too good to run dry for long.
"We believe we have got game winners all over this team, and that includes Robbie."
Keane was on the bench for the 2-1 win in the Champions League in Marseille on Tuesday but is expected to return to Rafa Benitez's starting line up for tomorrow's visit of Stoke City to Anfield.
