Injury boost for Reds
Liverpool have been handed a boost ahead of the Everton double header as Xabi Alonso has declared himself fit to play.
The Spanish playmaker was sorely missed in the goalless stalemate with Stoke last weekend due to a foot injury but the problem has cleared up and Alonso says he will be fit to face Everton on Monday.
"I am back training," he told the club's official website. "I had the stitches taken out on Monday. I'm still a little bit sore in that area.
"Right now I am able to play with the inside of my foot but my instep will be okay for Monday."
