Italian giants close in on Agger

Liverpool, 09:23, January 15, 2009 ,

Daniel Agger's Liverpool future is again in doubt after his agent was reportedly spotted meeting with officials from AC Milan.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is anxious to keep all his squad together as the race for the Premiership crown hots up, but Agger has consistently been linked with a move to Italy as AC Milan look to add him to their defence.
Ever since his contract talks at Anfield stalled there have been rumours of an imminent £8.5million bid from the Italians despite both the player and the club remaining adamant that he is happy.
Now though fresh doubts have emerged over his future after his agent, Per Steffensen, reportedly met in a city centre restaurant, Giannino, with Milan's general sporting director Ariedo Braida and the agent Rino Foschi.
Liverpool will now be hoping this latest update does not lead to a concrete offer for Agger's services.
