Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has described his delight at signing a new contract at Anfield and is now looking to 'kick on'.

Shelvey has signed a new contract and is looking forward to working with the new Reds boss Brendan Rodgers and, in the long term, aims to become a regular in the first team.
He told the club's website: "It's lovely to know I am in the plans for the future. At the moment, it's just about getting things right each day and proving myself to the gaffer here.
"The gaffer and his way of playing will suit me down to the ground and hopefully I can be in his plans.
"To start playing more games. I want to get into the first team and be in the starting XI on a permanent basis. That's going to be hard, but it's something I've got to work towards.
Signed from Charlton in May 2010, England Under-21 international Shelvey has made 37 appearances for the first team, whilst also enjoying a loan spell with Blackpool last term.
