Juve eye Rafa but top-four the focus

Liverpool, 11:27, January 26, 2010 ,

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is wanted by Juventus but the Spaniard remains focused on securing a top-four Premier League place.

Benitez's agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, has revealed the Italian side are keen on replacing Ciro Ferrara at Juventus and have targeted the Liverpool boss as a possible replacement.
However, the chances of Benitez leaving the Reds before the end of the season remain remote and Quilon has played down the link.
"I have had no contact with Juventus or with any other Italian club regarding an interest on Rafa Benitez," his agent said.
"There have been rumours linking Rafa to Juve just as there have been reports linking (Guus) Hiddink to Juve. But they are all media speculation and there is no truth in it.
"Rafa has a four-year contract with Liverpool."
Benitez takes his side to Wolves on Tuesday evening for another must-win game if they are to secure a top-four place this season and Quilon insists he is only thinking about a victory that would significantly boost his side's faltering campaign.
His agent added: "He feels he has the strength to continue with the team and he is fully focused on guiding Liverpool up the standings."
Astute punters will be aware Liverpool's poor season could yet be resurrected and they will go fourth with a win on Tuesday so placing a free bet to back the Reds to secure a top-four finish at the end of the season may be a wise move.
