Assistant manager Sammy Lee has reiterated summer signing Robbie Keane will not be sold in January and has a huge future at Liverpool.
Republic of Ireland international Keane brushed off speculation about his long-term future on Merseyside with a crucial goal in last weekend's showdown against Arsenal in the absence of number one striker Fernando Torres.
Keane has managed just three Premier League goals since his big-money move from Tottenham in the close-season and recently became the unfortunate subject of a slip by former player Mark Lawrenson that he would be sold in January.
Lee said: "A lot of people have said a lot of things about Robbie.
"But we know why we brought him here, we see every day in training how hard he works and what a good player he is. Things have been said outside the club, but there has not been a word from inside.
"He is a very good player, who was bought to score goals. That is what he is and will be doing."
