Liverpool are being tipped to step up their pursuit of Birmingham starlet Nathan Redmond as his contract runs into its last 18 months.
Anfield scouts have been monitoring the pacy winger for a couple of years, since he appeared in the Fifa Under-17 World Cup for England alongside Brad Smith, Raheem Sterling and Adam Morgan.
Birmingham are facing a battle keep to Redmond with Manchester City and the Reds first linked to him in January when he was being talked about as a £10million player.
Contract talks with his club have now collapsed and the England under-19 international is growing increasingly frustrated at Birmingham's failure to offer him new terms.
He is still on his first professional contract and could leave St. Andrew's in January.
Liverpool have had Redmond on the radar for the last 12 months and Brendan Rodgers is understood to have been made aware of his contract situation.
Tottenham Hotspur have also regularly sent scouts to watch the teenager - who can operate on the left wing despite being mainly right-footed.
