Madrid look to Gerrard
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is ready to make a £30m offer to try and prise Steven Gerrard away from Anfield.
The new Real boss is ready to take advantage of the fact that there is no man at the helm at Anfield and is ready to offer £30m for the services of Gerrard as soon as the World Cup comes to an end.
Mourinho is also being linked with and a massive £80m offer for the services of Wayne Rooney as he looks to stamp his mark on the Bernabeu. He is said to have had a meeting with director general Jorge Valdano on Monday to discuss his transfer targets and strategy and he will actively pursue his targets after the World Cup.
A Real source told the Daily Star: "There will be a couple of signings in the next two weeks but the big names will arrive after the World Cup.
"This is not madness. Rooney would be perfect for Real Madrid because of his hunger and desire.
"It is not impossible to sign him. People said that initially about David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, but they both made the move.
"In football nothing is impossible for Florentino Perez."
