Midfielder deal edges closer

Liverpool are said to be closing in on a deal for Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen with a £15m deal said to be in the offing.

Brendan Rodgers is set to go back to his old club to prise away Allen who is said to be very keen on a switch to Anfield, the midfielder is currently on Team GB duty preparing for the Olympics.
Rodgers is keen to get a move for Allen wrapped up as soon as possible as he looks to add the midfielder to the signing of Fabio Borini and he is ready to match the £15m release clause which would see the Welsh international move on.
