Liverpool ace Nuri Sahin revealed it was a 'special moment' to open his account with a double in the Capital One Cup against West Brom.
The Turkish international was on fire twice last night to help a youthful Reds team come from behind against the Baggies to earn a 2-1 win, which sent them through to the fourth round. The 24-year-old netted the equaliser with a 30-yard effort and popped up at the far post to tap in his second after some good build up play from Suso and and Oussama Assaidi. Liverpool who won this tournament last season in a penalty-shootout against Cardiff have started the domestic campaign poorly and will be hoping this can be the catalyst to get them going. Brendan Rodgers side will look forward to a fourth round meeting with Premier League opposition when they host Swansea at Anfield. Sahin said: "It was very special for me to score my first goal for Liverpool and it was a proud moment. "We played with a young side and they showed a lot of character, especially to come back from 1-0 down and they did very well." "The manager told us we have to shoot more when we get a sight of goal. I had some space and time and I know it was a mistake by their goalkeeper but if you don't shoot you don't score, so I was happy to see it go in."
