No Reds return for former star

Former Reds ace John Arne Riise has denied recent reports linking him with a return to Anfield.

Riise was reported to have said over the weekend that he would like to return to the club he left in 2008 to join up with Roma but the defender denies making such statements and claims he is happy where he is.

The Norwegian has struggled for first team football in the Eternal City after making more than 200 league appearances for the Reds but refutes saying he wanted to come back to Mersyside.

Riise told Sky: "I never said I want to return to Liverpool nor in England and I have never issued those statements,"

"I'm happy here and I want to stay at Roma."
