Rafa talks up Reds title chance

Liverpool, 13:28, January 30, 2009 ,

Rafael Benitez claims that Liverpool still have a 'fantastic opportunity' to win their first league title for 19 years.

The Reds manager was speaking ahead of his side's massive clash with title rivals Chelsea on Sunday having seen them slip behind the Blues in the Premier League table to third.
Benitez has come under increasing pressure this week after the Anfield club could only manage a 1-1 draw with Wigan on Wednesday and Liverpool could be five points behind league leaders Manchester United by the time they kick-off at 4pm on Sunday.
However Benitez has played down talk that Liverpool's title chance has gone and those looking to take advantage of their £10 free bet may fancy backing Liverpool to complete the double over Chelsea at Anfield after breaking the Blues long unbeaten home run back in October.
"This season, from the beginning we were so good, we were scoring goals and winning games and everyone could see that it was an opportunity for us," said Benitez.
"People were saying, 'Maybe it'll be this year' so we have created a lot of the expectation ourselves. But we are still in this position so everybody knows that we have to do our best.
"Clearly we have to improve in attack. We have plenty of control and plenty of possession, but we have to create chances and take them. This is one area we can clearly improve on and we are trying to improve."
