Reds ace pledges future to club

Liverpool, 09:40, June 18, 2009 ,

Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena wants to stay at Liverpool and fight for his place despite rumours linking him with a move to Italy.

The former Udinese fullback, who only moved to the Reds in a £7million deal last summer, has been linked with a move to Juventus.
But Dossena has pledged his future to the Anfield club and wants to fight his way into Rafa Benitez's first-team plans.
He told Sky Sports: "I never said I wanted to go away from Liverpool. I'm happy in Liverpool and I want to stay."
Dossena also believes the expected departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Man United to Real Madrid will give his side a great chance of winning the Premier league next season.
He added: "There's not a lot of difference between us and them.
"And now Manchester United have lost Cristiano Ronaldo maybe that's better for us."
