Reds beat major rivals to Jesus

Liverpool, 10:48, June 29, 2009

Liverpool have beaten Manchester United, Barcelona and Chelsea to sign Cadiz youngster Jesus Fernandez, according to reports.

The 16-year-old is rated as highly as Cesc Fabregas was at the same age and there has been plenty of top-flight interest in the youngster, including an offer on the table from European champions Barcelona.

That offer will be rejected, however, and the attacking midfielder, known as 'Suso', is being tipped to sign a deal at Anfield this week as Rafa Benitez continues to try and add to his squad.
