Reds desperate to land Fulham ace

Liverpool are ready to sell players in an effort to fund a £7.5million bid for Fulham star Clint Dempsey.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has spent around £25million on duo Fabio Borini and Joe Allen already this summer and the cupboard appears to be bare so he will now have to sell before he can buy.
There had been speculation Charlie Adam could be used as a makeweight in the deal or youngster Jay Spearing could be sold on, but the former Blackpool midfielder does not want to move to London.
Everton have also been linked with Adam but it is thought boss David Moyes is prepared to play the waiting game regarding the midfielder in order to get as cheap a price as possible, meaning Dempsey may have to wait until the final stages of the transfer window before a move to Liverpool can be finalised.
Spearing has also been deemed surplus to requirements by Rodgers and the 23-year-old could be sold to free up funds for Dempsey, with relegated Bolton Wanderers keen on the midfielder.
Fulham boss Martin Jol left Dempsey out of his squad for the win over Norwich on the opening day of the season due to the speculation surrounding his future and it seems as if the 29-year-old will be heading to Anfield as soon as the two clubs can agree a fee.
