Reds eye loan ace

Liverpool are being linked with a loan move for Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge which could turn into a £15m permanent deal.

Chelsea are ready to let the player move on as he has not made the first team on a regular basis and there has been talk of a swap deal with Arsenal that would see Theo Walcott move to Stamford Bridge. However Liverpool are ready to step up their interest in the striker but want to take him on loan in January before signing him permanently in the summer if all goes well. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to sign at least one striker when the transfer window re-opens and he has been linked with a move for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent but if he fails to land him then he could make a move for Sturridge. Chelsea would apparently rather sell on a permanent basis and with Arsenal and Tottenham sniffing around Liverpool will be anxious not to miss out.
