Reds in striker race
Colombian striker Jackson Martinez claims that Liverpool are watching him with a view to bringing him to Anfield in the summer.
The Reds are not alone in having the player watched as Porto have also been represented when the 25-year-old has been in action in Mexico where he plays for Jaguares.
Having scored 17 goals in 31 League appearances this season he is making himself noticed, although whether Liverpool actually make an offer remains to be seen.
The player himself believes a move to Merseyside could be on the cards, he told Colombian newspaper Nuevo Estadio: "I am not in any advanced negotiations with Liverpool or Porto but I know they are personally interested.
"I have not spoken to anyone and that goes for my club and my agent.
"In the next few months thinks should be finalised."
