Reds owners to sell up
Liverpool, 09:02, January 23, 2009 ,
Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks is understood to be in talks with Kuwait billionaire, Nasser Al-Kharafi over a potential takeover.
Meetings between aides of the pair are said to have taken place in London to discuss the possible sale of the club that Hicks and his co-owner George Gillet value at around the £550m mark, having paid £218m back in February 2007.
Al-Kharafi's initial involvement was thought to be to help finance the new stadium but it has turned into a possible full takeover from the Americans whose ownership has been dogged by controversy and problems.
It is not the first time the club appears to have been close to a sale and observers will monitor the situation closely.
