Reds rule out City ace

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers wants to add at least two new faces before the window shuts but Adam Johnson will not be one of them.

The Reds boss is still hoping to land a couple of unnamed targets but reports this week that he was ready to offer £10m for Manchester City winger Johnson appear to be wide of the mark, Sunderland lead the chase for Johnson but Spurs are also linked.
Real Madrid's Nuri Sahin and Barcelona's Cristian Tello were both linked with loan moves to the club but that is now unlikely as Sahin is heading to Arsenal and Tello is back in favour at Barcelona.
Fulham's Clint Dempsey is still a strong possibility but their boss Martin Jol revealed in the last week that they had yet to receive an official offer for the forward.
