Liverpool's interest in Wigan's exciting young forward Victor Moses is believed to be growing and a £8m bid could now be imminent.
The Latics would dearly love to keep hold of the 21-year-old, but the player's head appears to have been turned following speculation linking him with a move to a bigger club. Wigan have already turned down a £4m bid from Chelsea for the former Crystal Palace man, but with his contract set to run out at the end of next season, chairman Dave Whelan may have no choice but to accept an improved offer to ensure he gets a decent return on his investment. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers had made Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson his top target when he took over at Anfield, but Spurs have since moved ahead of them in the chase for the signature of the former Swansea loan signing. With that in mind, Rodgers is now planning to channel all of his energies into concluding a deal for Moses after being impressed with the development of the Nigerian during his time at the DW Stadium. The speedy forward's ability to play on either flank or up front appeals to Rodgers, who is desperate to add pace to his new team.
