Reds to complete Allen deal

Swansea midfielder Joe Allen is expected to complete a medical at today and complete his move to Liverpool within 24 hours.

The Welsh international will become the club's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of striker Fabio Borini, and the deal was all but agreed when he returned for Olympic duty on Wednesday. Allen was in the directors box at Anfield on Thursday night as Liverpool beat FC Gomel 3-0 to reach the Europa League play-off round and boss Brenden Rodgers admits the deal is almost done. "It's obviously imminent," Rodgers said. "Hopefully over the next 24 hours we can conclude it."
