Reds to move for Cahill
Liverpool are reportedly ready to step into the race to sign Bolton's Gary Cahill after his deal with Chelsea hit a stumbling block.
It was thought the move was a foregone conclusion after the two sides agreed a fee, thought to be worth around £7m, but according to Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas the two sides are "miles apart" in their discussions over personal terms.
Villas Boas said: "We're still miles apart regarding agreement with the player. We'll continue to monitor this situation, as we continue to monitor others."
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is now apparently ready to step in to any hijack the deal as he looks for cover for Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher at Anfield.
