Ruud linked to Reds

Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy would be keen on a New Year move to Anfield according to reports coming out of Spain.

Rafa Benitez is keen to add to his firepower at the club to hand some help to Fernando Torres up front and a move for the former Manchester United ace would certainly have people sitting up to take notice.

Real are not thought to be keen to part with the striker as they challenge for the Champions League and La Liga title but he is only on the fringes of the first team since the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Kaka in the summer.

Reports now suggest that he himself would be happy with a move to Anfield in the New Year rather than sit on the sidelines in Madrid.
