Turkey midfielder Nuri Sahin has revealed he may yet turn his loan move to Liverpool permanent next summer.
The Real Madrid winger completed a season-long loan switch from the Spanish giants to Merseyside over the weekend.
The Reds beat off competition from a number of clubs for the 23-year-old, including Premier League rivals Arsenal.
They agreed to pay a higher proportion of his £115,000 wages in order to secure the move, as well as not including an option to buy at the end of the loan - something that caused the Arsenal deal to fail.
However, while speaking to the media after being officially unveiled as a Liverpool player, Sahin gave the fans hope that he may make a permanent move to Anfield next summer anyway.
When asked whether he could sign for the Reds permanently, he told reporters: "You can never know what will happen in football.
"Right now I am at the right place at the right time."
