Liverpool are set to take Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin from under the noses of Arsenal, according to reports in Spain.
The Gunners had looked to be favourites to secure a deal for the Turkish star but reports in the Spanish publication Marca say the player is heading to Anfield instead on a season-long loan deal. Arsene Wenger was hoping to wrap up a permanent deal for the player but Real still have high hopes for him and are only interested in a loan move, while Sahin himself also does not want to cut all ties with the Spanish champions. That makes Liverpool favourites to do a deal and reports claim the player's agent is on his way to Liverpool to complete the formalities, news which is sure to disappoint Wenger.
