Spearing leaves Reds on loan

Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing has joined Championship side Bolton Wanderers on a six month loan deal.
The midfielder had been linked with a permanent exit but Spearing has instead decided to accept a loan offer from Bolton, despite reported interest from Premier League sides Aston Villa and QPR. There had been speculation Brendan Rodgers could opt to keep hold of Spearing following Lucas Leiva's injury but the Liverpool boss has allowed the 23-year-old to depart on loan. Spearing will remain with Bolton until January before returning to Merseyside but it would appear as if he is not in Rodgers' plans and could make a permanent exit at the end of his loan stay. Liverpool have been linked with moves for Fulham's Clint Dempsey and Arsenal forward Theo Walcott before the transfer window closes on Friday, while reports suggest Rodgers is still seeking to sell forward Andy Carroll if a buyer can be found.
