Star on course for Reebok start
Fernando Torres will be fit to feature for Liverpool against Bolton on Saturday after a successful run out in the Carling Cup.
The Spanish striker made his first start for the Reds for a month, following a hamstring injury picked up on international duty, in Wednesday night's League Cup defeat at Tottenham.
Despite being substituted after 56 minutes at White Hart Lane, the Liverpool medical team say there were no injury concerns and that the striker came through unscathed.
Rafa Benitez defended his decision to start last season's top scorer, insisting it was the plan to nurse him back to full fitness. Torres is expected to partner Robbie Keane at Bolton in Saturday's early kick-off.
