Striker swap deal mooted
Liverpool, 16:16, December 10, 2009 ,
Liverpool's Ryan Babel is being linked with a switch to Spurs with their striker Roman Pavlyuchenko coming in the opposite direction.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez is said to be a big fan of the Russian striker who has been a flop at Tottenham since his £13.8m move to the club in the summer of 2008 and would like to team him up with Fernando Torres at the spearhead of the Reds front line.
The departure of Babel from Anfield appears to be a foregone conclusion, despite his protestations of innocence this week over an article where he criticised the manager and demanded a first team place, he has still been a disappointment since his arrival at the club.
With money always a concern for Benitez the idea of a swap deal may appeal to him although swapping one failure for another may not be the answer he is looking for.
