Valencia ace staying put
Liverpool are wasting their time in their pursuit of Valencia midfielder Juan Mata, according to their president Manuel Liorente.
His comments come after it was reported money worries at the club would force them to sell some of their star players and Mata falls into that bracket, after his impressive displays in Spain's Under-21 European Championship triumph.
"The decision is clear and money will not change our position,"Llorente told Superdeporte.
"Valencia will not sell to any club that wants to buy Mata."
Kenny Dalglish was not the only interested party as Spurs and Arsenal were also in for the player but, following the arrivals of Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing to Anfield, Dalglish is likely to cool his desire to sign Mata.
