Winger eyes new deal

Liverpool, 15:41, January 13, 2009 ,

Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant will not be leaving the club to join another Premier League side, according to the players agent.

The 25-year-old winger has been the subject of a lot of interest as his contract runs out in the summer, but agent Sky Andrew claims he has no desire to play for another club in the English top flight and wants to remain at Anfield.
"Jermaine is still talking to Liverpool," he said.
"He does not want to play for another club in the Premier League and wants to stay with Liverpool."
There has also been interest from AC Milan in Italy, who want him on a free, and Real Madrid who have had a £3m accepted but the move collapsed after personal terms could not be reached.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez hinted last week that he may offer the winger a new one-year deal in order to stop him moving away for free.
