Towering injury list for Macc boss

Macclesfield are set to be without full-back Tony Diagne and midfielder Lewis Chalmers for the npower League Two clash with promotion-chasing Shrewsbury.

The duo suffered groin injuries in last week's 2-0 defeat at Gillingham and add to a towering injury list for boss Brian Horton. Defensive duo Paul Morgan (ankle) and Elliott Hewitt (hip) are out for the season along with midfielder Dwayne Mattis (ankle). George Donnelly is absent in attack and faces a further fortnight on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, while fellow forward Ben Tomlinson (ankle/illness) will be assessed ahead of the game. Horton is also sweating on the fitness of full-back Carl Tremarco (hamstring) and midfielder Sam Wedgbury (illness). Macclesfield are without a win since their 2-1 victory over Port Vale on New Year's Eve and are second-bottom of the Football League, three points from safety.
