Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma's agent claims the player would snub Manchester City in order to remain at the Italian Serie A side.
City boss Roberto Mancini has been linked with a myriad of players from his homeland as he looks to bolster his squad for an assault on the Champions League next term following their Premier League title success.
A £14million swoop for Bologna's Uruguay international midfielder Gaston Ramirez was mooted on Thursday, while reports in Italy are now linking 29-year-old Ledesma with a move to the Etihad Stadium.
However, despite Mancini's supposed interest in the Argentina-born Italian, who scored three goals in 38 appearances during the past season as Lazio claimed fourth spot in Serie A, his agent Vincenzo D'Ippolito claims Ledesma is happy in Rome and wants to go on and captain the team next season.
"Mancini likes Ledesma," D'Ippolito told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Each year this interest is renewed but Cristian has made a life choice and wants to remain in Rome. He is not the classic player that thinks about money above everything else.
"I believe he will end his career with the Biancoceleste. He is ready to be the captain of Lazio next season."
