Barca ace in City's sights
Manchester City, 09:46, November 3, 2009 ,
Mark Hughes is reportedly interested in linking Barcelona's Yaya Toure up with his brother Kolo at Man City in the January window.
With less than two months until the opening of the New Year transfer window, the City boss is already being heavily linked with a myriad of potential new faces as he looks to bolster his squad further to try and break into the Premier League's top-four Champions League qualification places.
A quality holding midfielder is thought to be top of Hughes' wanted list and Toure is being mooted as a potential target given that he has struggled to force his way into Barca coach Josep Guardiola's starting XI this season. The Spanish and European giants will reportedly test Liverpool's resolve to keep Javier Mascherano in January and if a deal materialises between those two clubs, then Toure could find himself lining up alongside his brother in City colours.
It is also claimed a move to play in England's Premier League would appeal to the Ivory Coast international, while the chance to link up with Kolo would be an added bonus.
