Blues must spend again - Hughes
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed he is ready to spend in January to address his side's "frailties".
The Eastlands chief watched as 10-man City went down 3-2 at home to Liverpool on Sunday, despite going 2-0 up by half-time, after the Reds fought back and took advantage of Pablo Zabaleta's red card with 24 minutes to go.
Dirk Kuyt popped up with the winner in injury-time and Hughes admits he needs to strengthen in the next transfer window.
He told the club's website: "We should not dwell on the negatives, we need to look at the positive aspects of what we are trying to do.
"We are really good to watch, but we understand we have frailties - and come January we will try to address them."
Hughes is well-stocked in attack with Robinho, Jo, Elano, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Stephen Ireland, while he also has decent defenders so it may be he is looking for an effective defensive midfielder to protect his back four.
