City ace rejects exit talk
Manchester City, 12:31, October 21, 2009 ,
Striker Roque Santa Cruz has insisted City's star-studded squad of players can cope if Mark Hughes opts to leave them out of his side.
With the majority of Hughes's first-team squad at Eastlands now fully fit, question marks have been raised that some big-money signings could grow unsettled and be seeking a move when the transfer window re-opens.
City are particularly strong in the striker department with Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy, Robinho, Carlos Tevez and Santa Cruz all battling it out for a first team spot.
But Santa Cruz told the club's website: "At Bayern Munich, people were not happy at times to be out of the team. But when you are unhappy the hunger is there to show what you can do when you have the chance. It's a tough situation.
"Players would speak out sometimes (to the media) although it wasn't allowed. We don't want people moaning, but with the players we have in this squad I don't think we will get that.
"The hunger is there, but everybody has shown a great attitude, working hard and waiting for their chance to impress the manager. I don't think we will have any problems like that."
