Mark Hughes is staying tight-lipped on reports that City could make another £35m move for Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero in January.
Sunday newspaper reports suggested City were preparing another club-record bid for the Argentina international striker come the New Year.
And, although everyone knows Hughes has a large transfer kitty and is likely to be under some pressure to spend big, the Welshman refused to confirm or deny his interest in the 20-year-old star.
"We're linked with every good player at every top club in Europe at the moment so I take with a pinch of salt in fairness," he told Sky Sports.
"When we have something to announce we will."
Aguero grabbed two goals for Atletico at the weekend and arrives at Anfield tomorrow night for his side's vital Champions League group phase clash with Liverpool, where he could be watched by Hughes.
