Manchester City have completed the sensational signing of Robinho with just minutes to spare before the window closed.
City have agreed to pay Real Madrid a fee in the region of £32.5million, a British record, and the Brazilian ace will be playing his football at Eastlands next season. Chelsea had been chasing Robinho all summer but City have pipped them to the signature of the player after matching Real's valuation late on Monday evening. It is thought Real were unwilling to do business with Chelsea but were happy for him to sign for City instead, news which is sure to infuriate the Stamford Bridge outfit. After being taken over by the Abu Dhabi United group, City boss Mark Hughes was given the go-ahead to spend big and has managed to pull off the biggest transfer coup in the club's history.
