City join mob of Sicilian suitors

City are hot on the heels of other top European clubs as Mark Hughes keeps tabs on highly-rated Denmark defender Simon Kjaer.
The 20-year-old starlet was reported to have been watched by a City spy when his Serie A club Palermo defeated Juventus last week, a match in which the central defender was outstanding.
AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea and Liverpool have previously been linked to Kjaer, who helped ensure Denmark's qualification for the World Cup on Saturday.
Sicilian newspaper Il Giornale Di Sicilia reported that Hughes has now joined the race to sign the former FC Midtjylland ace - who left the club just prior to City encountering them in the UEFA Cup last season.
