Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has been linked with a move for 19-year-old Pescara midfielder Marco Verratti.
Verratti was a member of the Pescara side who won Serie B last season and his performances for the Italian outfit have not gone unnoticed. Pescara sporting director Daniele Delli Carri has revealed a number of clubs have registered an interest in Verratti, who was named in the provisional Italy squad for Euro 2012 but didn't make the final squad, but Delli Carri expects the highly-rated youngster to remain with Pescara for the 2012/2013 campaign. "There was a meeting with Genoa, but there is also interest from Inter Milan and Serie A champions Juventus, but for now there is no agreement with anyone," Delli Carri told Sport Mediaset. "We are currently evaluating what is the best thing to do because we want the boy to remain with us. "There are also foreign clubs interested in signing him, namely Manchester City and Paris St Germain who are both keen on investing in young players. "They could also sign him, but then loan him back to us for one year, which could be an option."
