City look at Uruguayan
Premier League champions Man City are considering a move for Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin, after he was placed on the transfer market.
City could swoop for the Uruguayan centre-back after being handed another set back in the race to sign Daniel Agger. Atletico are struggling financially and will be forced to allow some big name players leave the club, in order to raise £12.6 million in taxes by October 5. The Spanish club regard Falcao, Adrian and Arda Turan as indispensable, but Godin will be allowed to leave if an offer in excess of £8million is received. Roberto Mancini has been linked with Javi Martinez and Liverpool's Agger over the summer, but club officials have refused to meet the asking price.
