City made to wait for star
Reports in Italy claim Manchester City target Stevan Jovetic could leave Fiorentina at the end of the current season.
Roberto Mancini is known to be a big admirer of the Montenegro international and it is understood he was trying to sign the player before the closure of the summer transfer window.
Whilst City were successful in landing the highly-rated Serbian defender Matija Nastasic from the Serie A club, Fiorentina stood firm over prized-asset Jovetic.
When asked about the forward, Fiorentina general manager Sandro Mencucci said earlier this month: "Was he close to leaving? There were requests, but it was very good of my president to convince him to stay."
But the latest reports suggest the 22-year-old agreed to stay in Florence, as long as he was allowed to consider a move next summer, with City still likely to be keen on a deal.
