City set to get rid of Balotelli
Latest news update:
Roberto Mancini has admitted he will "probably" sell Mario Balotelli in the summer after the striker's latest sending-off at Arsenal.
The Italian was red carded late on in City's 1-0 defeat at the Emirates - his fourth dismissal since joining the club - for two bookable offences while his first-half horror tackle on Alex Song could be investigated by the FA after it was missed by the referee.
Balotelli has weighed in with plenty of important goals for the club but has created too many unsavoury headlines as well and the latest controversy has left Mancini with a problem.
When asked afterwards if Balotelli would be sold in the summer, he said: "Probably", before adding: "I like him as a guy and a player.
"He is not a bad guy and a fantastic player but I'm very sorry for him as he continues to lose his talent and his quality.
"I don't have any words for his behaviour.
"I hope for him he can understand he is in a bad way for his future and I really hope that he can change his behaviour in the future."
Mancini also admitted Balotelli is unlikely to feature in the final six games of the season.
"He will probably not play in the next six games.
"I need to be sure I always have 11 players on the pitch and with Mario this is a big risk," he said.
