City star reveals summer torment
Carlos Tevez has admitted that he endured a 'personal crisis' with depression and weight problems due to speculation over his future.
The Manchester City striker had been attempting to secure a move out of the Etihad Stadium during the summer transfer window as he continually stressed a desire to return to South America to be closer to his two daughters.
And, after a return to Brazilian club Corinthians collapsed in July while no European based clubs would fork out the £50million asking price, Tevez has been condemned to staying put at City at least until January.
Tevez felt that he was portrayed in a bad light by the media throughout the summer and he has revealed that the speculation had an adverse impact on him.
"I'm not the s*** that they say I am. I had a personal crisis this summer," he told reporters.
"I put on five or six kilos and had to check myself into a clinic. I was depressed and so I ate and ate. Only my family and my friends know this."
