City told to forget Falcao
Atletico Madrid have told Manchester City to forget about Radamel Falcao this summer as they do not intend to discuss selling him.
City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all reported to be waiting to make their moves if given any encouragement from the Europa League winners. The Colombia international scored 36 goals in his first season at Atletico, following on from a campaign where he fired in 38 goals for Porto to earn him the 40 million euro switch to Spain. Atletico are reluctant to talk terms, though, and are confident that their failure to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League will not work against them. "The club has very clear ideas on this," sporting director Jose Luis Caminero told AS. "Falcao will remain at Atletico Madrid and any talk of an exit is misplaced. "The striker will remain with us next season and we are not considering any other possibility."
