Borussia Dortmund have ruled out the prospect of selling defender Neven Subotic to Manchester City in a £20million deal.
City boss Mark Hughes has reportedly targeted the 20-year-old to bolster his defensive options in the New Year window, despite having brought in Kolo Toure and Joleon Lescott during the summer.
However Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke has stressed that the former Mainz youngster, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton, will not be leaving in January.
"They could easily make us this offer if they would like to," said Watzke.
"But we are staying firm to our vow - Neven Subotic is not for sale."
Subotic claims he is flattered by City's reported interest, but after signing a new five-year deal in the summer, he is happy to stay with the Bundesliga outfit.
He told Bild: "It is a big honour if such a big club is attempting to sign me, but I am under contract until June 2014 at Borussia Dortmund and still want to achieve many things with this club."
