Elano injury latest

Manchester City, 17:17, December 4, 2008

Elano could be out for at least two weeks after sustaining a groin strain in City's goalless draw with Paris St Germain in the UEFA Cup

The Brazilian maestro pulled up two minutes into the second half at Eastlands, before hobbling out, and will be assessed on Thursday.

City manager Mark Hughes said: "We will check him out. With those kind of strains it is a minimum of two weeks, possibly longer.

"But we hope he has not compromised himself too much with the injury. It is a blow to us because obviously we are a little bit light in midfield. We cannot afford to lose too many bodies there."

The draw means City are assured of at least finishing second in Group A, having already qualified before the match.
